This year the ERC will reach an important milestone: soon 10 000 scientists and scholars from Europe and beyond will have received ERC funding to pursue their best ideas at the frontiers of knowledge. During an online ceremony, the ERC will welcome the 10 000th grantee and will highlight a few other ERC grantees who, in different ways, have contributed to transform science and research.

Programme will include an opening address by Jean-Pierre BOURGUIGNON (President ad interim of the ERC), and messages by David SASSOLI (President of the European Parliament), Ursula VON DER LEYEN (President of the European Commission), Manuel HEITOR (Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Portugal), and Cristian-Silviu BUŞOI (Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy).
