The European Innovation Council (EIC) (launched on March 18th) ⚡ supports top innovators, entrepreneurs, small businesses and scientists with brilliant, disruptive ideas and ambition to scale up their businesses, worldwide.
There will be €10b to fund disruptive deep tech projects that bring great benefits to both the society and economy, and that have also the potential to create new markets. The stellar instrument is the EIC Accelerator, created to scale up the most disruptive business projects worldwide – with grants for technological development and validation up to 2.5M; plus an additional possible equity investment up to 15M € to further scale the business.
For Portugal, the European Innovation Council is an opportunity to retain deep tech businesses, attract talent and qualified labor and increase the exposure of technology-based SMEs and the entire national ecosystem to more competitive international systems.
