Addressing EU Research Ministers at the Informal Competiveness Council on 3 February, ERC President Jean-Pierre Bourguignon stressed the need “to inform the scientific community as soon as possible about the pending grant competitions. The ERC Starting and Consolidator Grants calls must open promptly and close at the end of March and mid-April respectively to avoid a major negative impact on the evaluation process and delayed granting”. Taking into account the steps that still need to be followed in the transition to Horizon Europe, the intention is to publish further information for potential applicants on the ERC website as soon as this will be possible.
