European Innovation Council – Save the Date
March 18th and 19th - European launch | March 23 - event in Portugal

The European Innovation Council (EIC) will be launched on March 18th. EIC is a new initiative by Horizon Europe with a budget of 10b€ to make Europe a global leader in supporting disruptive, high-risk research and market penetration deep tech projects that bring great benefits to society and the economy and have the potential to create new markets. Its star instrument is the Accelerator, created to scale business projects worldwide, supports the most disruptive with technological development and validation grants up to 2.5M and equity to scale the business up to 15M €.

For Portugal, the European Innovation Council is an opportunity to retain deep tech businesses, attract talent and qualified labor and increase the exposure of technology-based SMEs and the entire national ecosystem to more competitive international systems.

The EIC will be launched at a European level at a public event on the 18th. On the 19th the ‘Applicants Day’ will take place for all those interested in knowing the details on how to apply.

On March 23 at 10:30 am, in a session specially dedicated to Portugal, the team responsible for the EIC in the European Commission will be with ANI to launch the European Innovation Council (EIC), in a public session that will communicate the objectives of this instrument to the national community.
